Made in Occupied Japan: A Collector's Guide

This is a must have for of this unique part of American history. These items were authorized manufacture in Japan after WW II to help get Japan 's economy going again by the Allies. Marian Klamkin gives her insight as to how and what they made, which includes many different kinds of collectables, many of which were taken home by returning G.I.'s as souvenirs. Some of the items included figurines, chinaware, Lacquer ware, and items made out of several mediums such as glass, paper, cloth, and metal. In order to clear U.S. Customs, all parts had to be stamped or labeled with the country of origin, hence, "Made in Occupied Japan." The book has many color photos and over 500 illustrations, which are very useful in helping to identify these items.
